About Sota Akiyama

Born in Japan, Sota's apprenticing started at an early age, when he moved to the US in 1989. With decades of sushi experience, including time at acclaimed restaurants Ozumo in San Francisco and Nobu in Los Angeles, Sota's dream came true in 2012 when he returned to Newport Beach to open his own restaurant, SOTA.
